Morning in beijing

Slept well...now wide awake and it's only 601 am...gearing up to spend the day at the airport. Beijing is pretty cold, 30s outside. I didn't really bring any warm clothing b/c i figured i wasn't going to be here until the end of the trip and i could buy something warm then...so much for that. i found all these little bags in the hotel room closet...they are about the size of bricks and just have chinese writing all over them. i'm pretty sure it's some sort of rodent poisoning. pleasant, huh. thankfully i haven't seen any little critters running around but im ready to get back to the airport and be on my way out of the perfect hotel...

i'll be missing the excursion to SaPa with the girls in vietnam, but am thinking of doing a trip to halong bay. they said they did that yesterday and it was really fun...kayaking, hiking, and slept on a boat. we'll see. the hotel will pick me up at the airport tonight and i can decide then.

also, i think facebook must be off limits here. i was able to get on once and now every time i try i get this message in chinese with red lettering on it. since china is communist, internet access and television channels are censored.

well going to shower and head down to breakfast. cant wait to see what breakfast in china consists of...wish me luck at the airport today...next stop: hanoi, vietnam.
